Carol Bettendorf Practice Manager/Hygienist
As she leads our practice, Carol strives for our office to be an exemplary periodontal practice! Having a strong background as a clinical hygienist has her well-suited to manage the unique needs of our specialty practice. Carol values the close and trusting bonds she shares with our patients and her calming managerial style keeps the practice focused and well organized.
FUN FACT: Carol has recently picked up the game of golf and you might catch her at the end of the day on the golf course. Her favorite part of the game is getting to wear cute golf attire! She is still waiting to get her first hole-in-one!
Sue Skipper Professional Relations/Hygienist
As she serves our practice in many specialty ways, providing personalized and excellent attention remains the number one goal for Sue. Since joining our staff in 1995, she has worn “many hats” and loves each and every one! From serving as a liaison between our dental colleagues and their staff, to assisting Dr. Edelstein with his local and national presentations, to the clinical arena, she loves it all! A fun career highlight for Sue was to be published in “Chicken Soup for the Dental Soul”.
FUN FACT: Sue has a goal to explore a new U.S. city every year, big or small! She believes every place has something good to offer!
Tina Quarles Hygienist
Tina never meets a stranger and you will experience her outgoing personality immediately after meeting her! She proudly is a self-proclaimed “Dental Nerd” and has been a hygienist since 1983, most of those years serving our patients. She has practiced in both Canada and California but her favorite by far is right here, her home town of Atlanta. Tina not only is our hygienist but surgical assistant and also does some administrative work as well. You can always get a good recipe, talk gardening, movies or outdoors adventures with Tina while you have one of the best cleanings ever!
FUN FACT: Tina has been snowboarding for close to 20 years now.
Mandy Hastings Hygienist
Making a great addition to our hygiene team since 2014, Mandy loves being able to help people keep their smile healthy! She finds being a hygienist very rewarding while getting to know her patients along the way. Ever-helpful and passionate about caring for our patients are just a few of the attributes she brings to our practice. Mandy has practiced hygiene in her home state of Kansas as well as Georgia. She loves all aspects of dentistry and even helps us as a surgical assistant on occasion.
FUN FACT: Mandy loves watching storms roll in and yes, being from Kansas, even tornados….from afar of course!
Greg Martin Surgical Technician
When you meet Greg at our office, the first thing you will notice is his deep and powerful voice resonating with a wonderful island accent! He is a caring and dedicated individual and he applies these attributes when working with patients as well as fellow staff members. Greg presents to our office with a strong history of dental experience starting in 1981, including a certification in Dental Lab Technology.
FUN FACT: Greg was born and raised in the Bahamas! He is no slouch in the kitchen where he loves to cook his native Bahamian dishes—order up his specialty, Johnny Bread!
Sissy Curtis Surgical Technician
Born and raised in the south, you will notice Sissy’s sweet southern accent. She brings to our practice 13 years of experience and approaches treatment for our patients with knowledge and skill while expressing compassion to make our patients very comfortable. Her goal is to give each patient a great and pleasant experience every time they visit!
FUN FACT: Sissy left the south for 3 years and moved to Colorado where she got to really enjoy her love for hiking. She climbed several “14ers” which in the hiking community is a mountain with an elevation of 14,000 feet!
Sarah Day Business Administrator
Living in North Carolina and telecommuting, Sarah is your advocate for your insurance claims, provides the friendly appointment reminders, as well as our office accountant. A recent Summa Cum Laude graduate in accounting only continues with our theme of staff excellence! With her drive for success and a slight case of “perfectionitis”, she is always researching various ways to improve office function that will simultaneously benefit you and our team. While you may not see her in the office, Sarah is an integral part of our daily function.
FUN FACT: Sarah has recently taken an interest in digital photography and editing. While most of her peers focus on either portraits or landscapes, Sarah’s main subject is her son, Max.
Taylor Sparrow Patient Concierge
Taylor works in the front office greeting patients and scheduling appointments. She is the first smile you see upon entering our office. Taylor has been in the dental field for several years and enjoys interacting with patients, hearing their stories and building relationships. Her goals are to help make each patient have a positive and relaxing visit.
FUN FACT: Taylor is an Atlanta Falcon’s fanatic! She is a season ticket holder and you will find her cheering on the Falcons every Sunday during football season! Rise up is her motto!
Chance Office Mascot
Meet our office mascot Chance! He is a first generation goldendoodle and is one of four of the Edelstein furry family! He is truly the sweetest dog ever and we love when he comes for visits!
FUN FACT: Dr. Edelstein and his wife Amy adopted Chance. On a trial “sleep-over” before final adoption, Chance and Amy rode together in the back seat of Dr. Edelstein’s car. Dr. Edelstein knew he was in trouble when within five minutes of riding, he looked in the rear-view mirror and saw Chance giving Amy doggie kisses. Chance never went back to his previous home!
